In recent years, measures to prevent deterioration of the global environment, including global warming, have been demanded by society. One essential response is to reduce the environmental load imposed by building construction and maintenance. We have developed Super Ecological Building. For the first application to the Taisei Sapporo Building, we have designed and constructed so as to attain environmental friendliness as well as comfort as a office building.
For office buildings in cold regions, it is important to reduce the heating load in winter and make use of the cool climate in summer. The authors have designed an "Air conditioning system for northern areas" on the premise that a high level of thermal insulation is provided and implemented it. As the saving energy on air conditioning to reduced energy usage for maintenance, we have measured energy consumption of the building after completion. The evaluation has pored that the reduction in energy consumption of 40% compared to conventional buildings is achieved.
