Numerical simulation of seismic wave propagation,
considering the sedimentary basin structure of Nobi plain and the fault model
proposed by Central council for disaster prevention, is carried out to evaluate
the intensity, frequency characteristics and duration time of long-period ground
motions. Seismic waves are amplified by sedimentary structure and contained
in the plain resulting the long duration of ground motions more than 2 minutes.
The intensity of ground motions is large at the western part of the plain due
to the thick sediment and the steep decline of basement rock. |
