An air-conditioning system that uses the ice as thermal resources for air conditioning in summer was developed. Taking advantage of the special feature of a cold district, the ice for the system was made by using cold air in winter. After the Third Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP3) in 1997, research and development of the technology using natural energy are positively done for prevention of global warming in our country. The idea of improving frozen snow heat use as energy resources of a cold district has surfaced in this background. This system is an air-conditioning system that makes ice in the open air in winter and uses the ice as thermal resources for air conditioning in summer. The purpose of this system is the reduction of the running cost by usage of natural energy. |
