Evaluation of structural performance of ultra high performance concrete (Ductal) This paper focuses on the evaluation of the structural performances of Ductal beams that may be a fundamental design and construction technology. The structural performances such as flexural strength, share strength, ductility and crack pattern have been investigated from the behavior of dozens of Ductal beams subjected to flexion and shear loading. The specimens have been made with varying the existence of longitudinal reinforcements, the size of beam and the shear span to height ratio. Finite element method analyses have been also conducted to clarify the tension softening mechanism of Ductal. The comparison between computed values and experimentally observed values is shown to validate the modeling of the tension softening proposed in this work.
