Exhibiting Full Page of John Lennon's Passports
-John's Footsteps Told By His Passports-
(Second Term: Passport Used in 1967 - 1971)

The John Lennon Museum (Junichi Mizusawa, General Manager of the Museum / Saitama-city, Saitama pref.) will be exhibiting the full page of John's second passport, issued on July 20, 1967 and used from 1967 to 1971, for the first time in the world from December 1, 2004 to April 11, 2005.

In 1966, John experienced two big events which marked the stages of his life; one thing is that the Beatles was no longer give a concert, and the other thing is that he first met Yoko Ono. The time of renewing his passport almost falls in with John's turning point in his life. These transitions are reflected on the records in his passport. First, the number of trips as a member of the Beatles is decreasing because the Beatles stopped giving a concert. Instead, the numbers of trips for himself and his family, and for peace activities are increasing. Later, John and Yoko went to live in New York and never returned to England. In this second passport, there are the footsteps of John, who faced up to himself after growing out of the Beatles, and found out a new place of expression, social activities.

Until now, it was said that the date of John's leaving England was September 3, as described in numerous books. However, it turns out that he had never departed from the U.S. since he arrived in New York on August 12.

* Subsequently, we are planning to introduce the third passport used from 1976, when John was living in New York as a house husband, after April 2005.
