防災分野における安全・安心への取組み
当社では「人がいきいきとする環境を創造する」を企業使命とし、安全で安心な社会の構築のために、自然災害の防止や住み易い環境を目指して技術開発を続けている。本論では、この課題に対する当社の考えを概説した。自然災害としては地震災害を、環境汚染としては土壌汚染、大気汚染、室内空気汚染を主に取り上げ、過去の被害状況と国家機関等による将来の発生予測の現状を取り纏めた。また、これらの課題に対する当社の取組みとして本号に掲載の主な対策技術を紹介した。

Our Efforts in the Field of Disaster Prevention towards Greater Social Safety and Security
We are continuing our research into preventing natural disasters and creating livable environments in order to achieve a safe and secure society. Our mission is to create a "vibrant living environment for all members of society". This paper describes our perspective on this issue, examining an earthquake disaster (natural disaster) and soil, atmospheric and room-air pollution (environmental pollution). The paper also provides a summary of the statistics on damage caused by previous events, as well as predictions by government organizations. Finally, the paper briefly introduces our efforts and the effective measures included in the present number of "Report of Taisei Technology Center".
