When a civil structure is constructed on a liquefiable
ground, it is important to check the stability and the safety of the ground
and the structure including its foundation, considering the effect of the liquefaction
of the ground properly. As a tool for a realistic simulation of liquefaction
phenomena, we have two computational programs for liquefaction analyses named
LIQCA and DIANA-SD. The importance of the numerical technique like this has
been increased since the 1995 Hyogo-ken Nanbu Earthquake. We have already verified
the validity of this technique through experimental studies and analyses of
the real seismic damages. In this paper, a few examples of the application
of this technique for pile foundations, underground structure, quay wall, are
shown. |
